The NMACC weekend in New York is an initiative to present Indian culture to a global audience. The event is scheduled to take place from September 12 to 14 at Lincoln Center.

This cultural festival is under the leadership of Nita Ambani. She is the Chairperson of Reliance Foundation.

The festival's primary goal is to promote Indian art forms. These include music, dance, fashion, and handicrafts.

The event marks the international debut of the NMACC. The NMACC was launched in Mumbai in 2023.

The NMACC was conceived as a multifaceted cultural center. Nita Ambani spent over a decade developing the center.

She drew inspiration from institutions like The Met in New York and the Sydney Opera House. The center aims to celebrate both traditional Indian arts and international visual art exhibitions.

The New York edition of the NMACC weekend will commence with 'Grand स्वागत'. This is an event exclusively for invited guests.

The 'Grand स्वागत' will feature a fashion showcase curated by designer Manish Malhotra. It will highlight the diversity of Indian attire.

Chef Vikas Khanna, who has been awarded a Michelin star, will present regional Indian cuisine.

The program includes performances by prominent figures in the music industry. Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, and Rishabh Sharma are among the artists scheduled to perform.

NMACC's main production, "The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation," will have its international premiere at Lincoln Center. Feroz Abbas Khan directed the musical.

The musical aims to depict India's 7,000-year cultural journey. It will use music, dance, and stage design to bring the story to life.

Damrosch Park will be transformed into a cultural center. This will allow the public to participate in various activities.

Activities include morning yoga sessions with Eddie Stern. There will also be panel discussions on cricket.

Shyamak Davar will lead Bollywood dance workshops. A 'Swadesh Marketplace' will showcase crafts from Indian artisans.

“संस्कृति लोगों को जोड़ती है, उनके बीच समझदारी और संवेदनशीलता बढ़ाती है। मैं न्यूयॉर्क में भारत की झलक और उसकी 5,000 वर्षों की कहानियों को लाने के लिए बेहद उत्साहित हूं।”
